 More about Internet Evangelism Day - the new focus day in 2006

Partner with the Bulletin

A free resource for your site

You can easily add a small subscription form on your site for the Web Evangelism Bulletin - the twice-monthly Christian ezine which equips and informs Christians about online outreach, page promotion techniques, and web tips. Alternatively, you can actually syndicate the contents of the current issue of the Bulletin into your own site.

The subscription form

Here's a great way to provide your Christian site visitors with additional resources and ideas for online evangelism, site publicity and more. Just copy/paste the code on this page into an appropriate place on your own webpage, using a text editor, or the text-editing option (i.e. where you adjust the base HTML code of a page) of an HTML editor. Do not drop the coding into a WYSIWYG editor interface, or it will convert < > angle brackets into something else and the code will not work.

This code creates a basic subscribe form:

<form onsubmit="return emailcheck(this)" style="margin:1px;padding:0px;" action="http://guide.gospelcom.net/resources/formaction1.php" target="_blank" method="post">
<input type="text" name="email" onFocus="this.value='' " value=" write email here" size=20> <input type="hidden" name="lists"><input type="submit" style="background-color:silver;font-size:80%;font-weight:bold;" value=" subscribe ">
</form>
<script language="javaScript" src="http://guide.gospelcom.net/scripts/emailchecker.js" type=text/javascript>
</script>
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
function stoperror(){
return true
}
window.onerror=stoperror
</script>

The width of the form is adjustable (currently set as size=20, and you can also vary the style of the form, and the size or color of the subscribe button, using CSS.

It also includes a Javascript form-checker script - this prevents people from pressing the button without first adding a valid email address.

Description

Naturally, you will also need to add a description of the form, and perhaps a personal recommendation for the Bulletin. It could appear above or below the form, and might be something like 'we recommend' or 'our partner'

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<span style="font-size:70%;">we recommend . . .</span> <span style="color:red;font-size:80%;font-weight:bold;">Web Evangelism Bulletin<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;- every 2 weeks</span>
<span style="color:#9F141A;font-size:70%;font-weight:bold;">news | ideas | page promotion</span>

If you wish, include the 'archives' and 'privacy' links too:

<span style="font-size:80%;"><a href="http://guide.gospelcom.net/resources/bulletin.php">Previous issues</a> |
<a href="http://guide.gospelcom.net/resources/privacy.php">Privacy</a></span>

Putting those together, your form might look something like this, with whatever variations of wording, font color and size, form background, or button color, that you wish.

    we recommend . . .
Web Evangelism Bulletin
     - every 2 weeks

Scroller

You can also add a scrolling 'latest contents' box as displayed at the end of this page, using this code:

<span style="color:red;font-size:12px;font-weight:bold">Latest Bulletin covers:</span><br> <iframe height="50" width="150" src="http://guide.gospelcom.net/resources/bulletinscroller.php" scrolling="no" frameborder="0"></iframe>

If you use the scroller, or include the archives/privacy links under the form, you can ensure that these open in a new browser window by adding extra code to your page:

If you choose this feature, include a note on your page to explain that external links open in a new window. Ready-made wording can be inserted above your Bulletin content by adding this extra insert code above the main insert code: <script language="JavaScript" src="http//guide.gospelcom.net/scripts/bullmessage.js" type=text/javascript>
</script>

Syndicate the content

You can syndicate Bulletin content directly into your website in two ways:

Who is doing it already?

Thank you for considering a partnership like this. CCCI's Evangelism Toolbox and Global Technology Office are among a number of groups already offering the Bulletin this way.

If you choose any of the options on this page, we will add your site to our partner link page, which will increase your 'link popularity' and therefore search engine page ranking of your page. Just tell us the URL of your page that carries the form.

 Display the latest Bulletin on your site
• Each issue can be syndicated into your own website, updating automatically. then copy/paste (CTRL+C/CTRL+V) this code into your own page: help (Please do NOT copy the actual contents of any Bulletin issue onto your own site: reasons.) You can also add a blog-style taster to your linking page, using this code. Or add Bulletin subscribe form or scroller. Other options for re-use.
