Questions to focus on: Permission Evangelism

These questions can be used at different levels. You can take 30 seconds to think about one or two. You can discuss them in a team or group of like-minded Christians. Or they can be used in a college class, including assignments and research projects, and answered in writing at any depth. They may be freely reproduced for this purpose.   1. Buy or borrow the book – it is very significant!
  2. Create a simple working definition of Permission Evangelism.
  3. Discuss Simpson's analysis of the Gospel accounts, and his thesis that Jesus is using Permission Evangelism strategies.
  4. How can we extend these principles to evangelism online, in print, or using other media? How do we create gradations or steps in our writing which entice readers or listeners to a further level of inquiry?
  5. Discuss how a website, or any other evangelistic presentation, can "create space for non-believers to come and investigate the radical claims of Christ at their own pace" and be "a safe place for a dangerous message".
  6. What styles of writing and communication would completely undermine the principles in the preceding point?
