"Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle."
Psalm 144:1
God has given us an incredible new tool for outreach and discipleship - the Internet. However, the Web can only be used effectively when we understand the nature of this medium. Just as TV is not just radio with pictures, so the Internet is not just a way of delivering tracts on a computer monitor. Unlike radio, TV and literature - which are "push" mediums - the Internet is a "pull" medium which draws people in - but only on the basis of what interests them.
Therefore to create web-sites which merely explain the Gospel will never reach the vast
majority of Web users. Creative strategies are needed.
These strategies can also be applied to church websites. Very often, church
sites appear to be written purely for Christians. Yet churches which realise the potential
their sites have to reach out into the community are reporting remarkable success. Some Full Gospel
church sites have become very effective outreach tools and are excellent examples for church page strategy and design (see three examples in the links on right).
